If you've been following me long enough, you'll know that Chrome horsepower festival is my favourite event on the calendar. Why?? well one day, when i was a teenager back in school, i noticed a whole heap of awesome cars heading south on the motorway. After a bit of researcher, turns out those car were on their way to Chrome and that whole concept of driving your car to the track, thrashing it all day, then driving home intrigued me, i wanted to be that guy.
Chrome has always been that pinnacle event for me, the first year i had a car ready for the two day event was 2016, when the supra was sorta just slapped together but i came back in 2017 with the fresh build that was only completed the day before. I have attended every year since and debuted my drift car in 2021.
Chrome literally has it all, show and shine, cruising, roll racings, burnouts, grip sessions, drifting, drag racing, powerskids and gymkhana. Believe it or not i have done it all, even gave a few lucky passengers from the taxi stand a couple of hot laps last year. I'll literally drive the wheels over the two day event giving the car absolutely no time to cool down, its the perfect event to test how reliable the car is thats for sure.
I am not debuting anything new on the supra this year but it is the last event i'll do before pulling the supra apart for some much necessary upgrades, because its the last event with this setup, i'll driving harder than i've ever driven before going for some sort of 'stand out' award for sure. I'll be there in support of the NZFC family. If you see me at the track, come say hi and if your lucky enough, i'll take you for a hotlap or two. This will be my 8th year in attendance.
